Before connecting anything
- Install Bozos RoleSync in both servers.
- Give its bot role Manage Roles, and move the bot role above each role you want it to manage in both servers.
- Enable Server Members Intent for the Discord application. It does not need Administrator or View Channels.
- Use a Discord account with Administrator or ownership of both servers to create the connection on the dashboard.
Choose the correct direction
Use when Server A controls access to a role in Server B. Changing B does not update A.
Use when the two mapped roles should follow changes in either server.
One connection maps exactly one role in each server. Test using a normal member who belongs to both servers; the bot cannot assign a role in a server the person has not joined.
Protect against accidental removals
Turn off Sync role removals if you only want to grant matching roles. Leave Remove linked role when someone leaves source server disabled unless that membership is required. Disconnecting a RoleSync connection does not strip roles already granted.
Why isn't my role syncing?
- Confirm the connection is saved and enabled, and the owning server has an available Free/Premium slot.
- Confirm the bot is installed and online in both servers and its highest role is above the selected role.
- Make sure the role isn't managed by an integration or an Administrator role.
- Check that the member belongs to the destination server and that the role change is coming from the configured direction.
- Wait approximately one minute for a new configuration to refresh, then try another role change.
After Premium expires
Free allows three active connections. Older three saved enabled connections continue; the others pause without being deleted. Renew Premium to reactivate them. See plans and RoleSync documentation.
