Fix music problems without guessing

Most music problems fall into a few groups: server toggle, voice access, requested track/link, player state or active filter.

Start with the server setting

Open the server dashboard and confirm the main Music System is enabled. Normal playback depends on that switch, while Radio and Autoplay also have their own server-level switches. If only one of those features fails, check its individual setting before changing anything else.

Bozos does not join voice

  1. Join the voice channel yourself before using music commands that expect an active voice context.
  2. Confirm Bozos can View Channel, Connect and Speak.
  3. Inspect channel-specific permission overrides, because they can explicitly deny access even when the bot role normally has permission.
  4. Make sure the voice channel is not full or otherwise unavailable.
  5. Try another voice channel to determine whether the problem is channel-specific.

Bozos joins, but you hear nothing

Check that the player is not paused and that the active volume is audible. If you previously changed audio filters, reset them with /clearfilters. Also confirm Discord has not server-muted the bot and that your own Discord output device is working.

A specific song or link fails

Try a plain song search with /play or another known-good Spotify, Apple Music or Deezer link. If other requests work, the problem is probably limited to that particular request rather than the entire music system. Availability of individual media can change over time or by region.

The queue is full

Server owners can configure a maximum queue size from the dashboard. When the queue reaches that configured limit, new additions can be rejected until space is available. An empty queue-limit setting means the server is not using a fixed queue cap.

The wrong song is next

Use /queue to inspect upcoming tracks. /playtop adds a new request near the front, while /move, /jump and /remove give members more direct control over the upcoming queue.

Loop or autoplay behaves unexpectedly

/loop cycles between Track, Queue and Off, while /unloop disables normal looping. Autoplay is separate and can continue playback after the normal queue ends when the server allows it. Check both the active playback mode and the server's Autoplay setting before assuming the player is stuck.

Audio sounds strange

Bozos includes optional 8D, lo-fi and bass-boost effects. These are intentionally noticeable, so unexpected sound is often an active filter rather than a connection problem. Use /clearfilters to restore normal playback before deeper troubleshooting.

Radio does not start

Radio has its own dashboard switch. Confirm it is enabled, then start from an active voice context and open /radio. If normal songs work but Radio does not, focus troubleshooting on the Radio setting instead of resetting the entire music configuration.

A useful troubleshooting order

1. Configuration

Check Music, Radio or Autoplay switches in the dashboard.

2. Voice

Confirm the user and bot can access the intended voice channel.

3. Player

Check queue, pause state, volume, filters and the specific request.

Testing in that order avoids changing unrelated server settings when the problem is only a single channel, request or playback mode.
